Chicago Christmas Shopping
Join us on this no-hassle excursion to the Magnificent Mile -- one of the most iconic shopping areas in the world. This cosmopolitan, history-packed strip is located along Michigan Avenue and includes department stores, multi-story retail centers, luxury boutiques and brand name retail chains. Ride our deluxe motor coach and be dropped off at the famous Water Tower Place -- home of the American Girl Place and the LEGO Store.
When: Friday, December 5, 2025
Where: Bus leaves at 8 am and returns at 10 pm. You'll have about six (6) hours of shopping time.
Fee: $75 ($80 after November 6)

The Greenwood Community Garden is located adjacent to Fire Station 92 on the north side of Fry Road. Residents can rent 20’ x 20’ plots to grow plants, flowers, fruits and vegetables. The garden is also used by many community organizations to provide fresh local food to underserved populations. Reserve your plot today!

En garde! Have you ever wanted to try your hand with a sword? Here’s your opportunity with this exciting new program. Students will learn the basics of fencing: footwork, blade work, rules and tactics, as well as participating in fun fencing games. This class is taught by Anthony Joslin, a trainer of the 2013 U.S. Youth National Champion. Rent the necessary protective gear (headpiece, chestpiece and gloves) for just $20 per session.
When: Monday: 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Where: Greenwood Fieldhouse
Fee: $60 per four-week session, plus $20 equipment rental fee
Participants: Youth at least age 13 and adults

Join Clint Kowalik of Go Fishin with Clint and learn how to tie a fishing knot, rig up a rod, and cast for Backyard Bass. You’ll also identify fish that swim in our local waters and learn how to safely handle them. The class will be indoors

Greenwood Parks & Recreation is offering a FREE one-day personal self defense class on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 2:30 pm. Our karate instructor, Jovanni Martinez, will highlight three basic concepts -- striking, scaping and grappling control.
