Soccer

Greenwood Parks & Recreation offers soccer leagues each season, allowing beginners and experienced players to enjoy the game through teamwork, youth competition and fair play.

Spring Youth Soccer

When: 2025 TBD

2025 Dates: TBD

Where: All games and practices take place at Freedom Park. The fields are near the park restroom just to the south of the big hill. Parking is located between the Freedom Springs Aquatics Center and the tennis courts.

Fee: $70 (includes jersey and socks)

Participants: Coed: Youth ages 6-8 and 9-12 (Check out our toddler leagues for your younger children!)

Kevin Owens offers youth basketball skills development with clinics and small group training at the Greenwood Fieldhouse.

Baseball

Greenwood Parks & Recreation has teamed up with baseball coach Brian McMillin to offer individual and small-group hitting and pitching skills sessions!

When: Wednesday: Half-hour sessions from 7p.m. – 8 p.m. and Saturday: Half-hour sessions from 9a.m. – 12 p.m.

Where: Greenwood Fieldhouse Auxiliary Turf

Fee: $40 per 30-minute session

Participants: All ages

Softball

Greenwood Parks & Recreation has teamed up with fast-pitch softball coach Justice Davenport Carmichael to offer small-group hitting skills sessions!

Justice comes highly recommended from our past instructor David Choinacky that recently moved out of state!

Justice Davenport Carmichael played travel softball for the Indy Edge organization since age 10 until graduating from Scecina Memorial High School in 2015. At Scecina, she was an All-Conference and All-City player all 4 years. After high school, she played softball at both Taylor University and Franklin College, where she was an All-Conference player for both hitting and outfield. Since college, Justice has had experience coaching both travel and high school softball.  "I’m excited to share my softball knowledge with the younger generations!"

When: Selected Mondays: 60-minute sessions from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

A PGA Golf Pro will offer Jr. Golf Classes following the first tee curriculum at the Greenwood Fieldhouse

Lacrosse

Elementary Lacrosse Lessons: AJ Ablog will be teaching introductory cradling, scooping, throwing and catching at periodic lacrosse clinics throughout the year. Sessions are limited to 15 participants.

Participants: Coed: Youth ages 6-11

Times: Games will be played starting at 3pm on Sunday Afternoons

Beginning Archery Lessons

This 3 week curriculum will introduce and teach beginning archery to children and adults ages 10 and up. Class is instructed by Robert Webber, a multi-certified instructor (Level I & Level II) through USA Archery and a National and State Champion and Record Holder

When: Session 6: September 10, 17 and 24

Where: Greenwood Fieldhouse Auxiliary Turf Field

Fee: $60 (3-Week Session)

Participants: Coed: Youth and Adults ages 10 and up

Advanced Archery Lessons

Class is instructed by Robert Webber, a multi-certified Instructor (Level I & Level II) through USA Archery, and NFAA (National Field Archery Association) Member since 1990. Holding championships in National, Sectional and a State Record Holder

Advanced archery participants 18 and under should have taken beginners class or involved with any of the following- 4H, S3DA, NASP programs. Over 18 adults should have at least some archery experience. 

When: Session 6: October 8, 15 and 29

Where: Greenwood Fieldhouse Auxiliary Turf Field

Fee: $60 (3-Week Session)

Participants: Coed: Youth and Adults ages 10 and up

Both classes must use equipment provided by Greenwood Parks and Recreation

Flag Football

We offer co-ed flag football leagues for players ages 6-9 and 10-13. Practices and games are indoors at the Greenwood Fieldhouse. No prior football experience required. This league will help your child foster a love for the game, build friendships on and off the field and learn the fundamentals of the game. 

When: Tuesday and Thursday. August 13 - September 24

Where: Greenwood Fieldhouse Main Turf Field

Fee: $70/player 

Participants:

Ages 6-9 - 5:45 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.

Ages 10-13 - 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
