Recycling/Request a Bin
We encourage everyone to participate in Greenwood’s free recycling program. More recycling and less trash is not only great for the environment, it decreases costs and increases revenue to the program, allowing Greenwood to maintain lower rates in the future.
Each resident who chooses to participate is given a 96-gallon wheeled bin. The bins are picked up bi-weekly. On your designated pickup day, recycling must be curbside by 7 a.m.
Turn On/Shut Off Service
Greenwood Sanitation accepts turn-on or shut-off service requests from water providers only. To turn on or shut off sanitary sewer service, please contact your water provider. The provider will send information to the city.
Once the service order is received, the city will activate your sewer account automatically. We will also automatically add trash to your account if you are a residential customer inside Greenwood city limits. Please do not contact your water provider regarding trash service. Rates
Sanitary sewer rates are set to properly fund system operations, maintenance, treatment and needed capital projects. Residential sanitation bills include the following monthly charges:
- Sanitary Sewer Base Rate: $34.14
- Sanitary Sewer Usage Rate: ($7.81 per 1,000 gallons); average residential usage is 4,000 gallons per month ($31.24)
- Residential Trash Rate: $18.60 (includes recycling, heavy trash, and leaf and limb pickup at no additional charge)
ACH/Electronic Billing Credit
Receive $10 off your next utility bill with the Greenwood ACH / Electronic Billing Utility Credit! Sign up for electronic statements and automatic bill pay and receive a $10 credit toward your next sanitary sewer and trash bill. In order to receive the one-time $10 credit, you must be enrolled in both the Automated Clearing House (ACH) program and E-Billing service. Click here to sign up for ACH.
Eligible customers must receive all bills and notifications electronically, with no paper mailings. The $10 utility credit will be applied to your next bill after enrollment but will be revoked if the ACH or E-Billing services are cancelled within six months after the initial sign-up date. Saving money and the environment is another way Greenwood Goes Green!
